Nicole is one of my good friends from my college days. Nicole and Dennis now live in NYC and decided to tie the knot in the private coastal town of Akumal. It’s about an hour and a half from the Cancun airport and about 45 min. from Playa del Carmen. They rented the most beautiful villas on a private beach and had a spritual ceremony with a local Shaman. It was such a cool ceremony and what a fun reception. They are both so laid back and easy going. Everyone had a blast and seemed to be so relaxed and happy. Probably had a little to do with the awesome margaritas they were making. 🙂
I also got a chance to meet my favorite late night hosts, Jimmy Fallon. Dennis and Jimmy have been friends since they were kids. He was just as sweet and cool as you would imagine him to be. The wedding was perfect! It was planned by local wedding planner Jennifer Smith with “Marry Me Akumal” and Turtle Bay Weddings. If you are looking to do something laid back and intimate, this was the perfect location. It was an incredible experience. All the best to Nicole and Dennis. You guys are awesome and I’m so happy for you.
